A full-service communications company with emphasis on the presentation/publication of story-telling projects in a variety of formats for both editorial and corporate clients.
Current projects include the following:
*Distribution and marketing of "IN THE CAL: Pastime Goes Primetime In California's Minor League," an award-winning photodocumentary book and gallery exhibit on the lifestyle and atmosphere of minor league baseball. (authored design, text and photography; produced and published by STILL Productions/June, 1994)
* Production of "IF IT TAKES FOREVER: A Cubs Fan's Journey Through Baseball's Greatest Romance," a photodocumentary book in progress toward publication. (author of text, photography; produced by STILL Productions/2001)

Freedom Communications, Inc: contract photo editor

June '99 to Mar'04
Part-time contract position with OCR Magazines (a division of Freedom Communications; in association with the Orange County Register). As magazine photo editor produced a six-month/six-issue series on Orange County, CA for the Millennium (June, '99 to Jan, 00). Continued on with OCR as photo editor to help launch two new magazines June, 2000 -- March, 2004 Orange County HOME, and Golf Extra.

Los Angeles Times: staff photographer & photo editor

Oct. '87 to June '94 -- Management job included weekend department supervisory duties, photo editing and coordination of the photo internship program through 1992. (Represented photography department in all weekend editorial meetings.) Shooting job involved a combination of news, feature, sports assignments often with extensive travel. Occasionally wrote text to accompany photographs.

Courier-Journal/Louisville Times: staff photographer

Sept. '84 to Sept. '87 -- Photography rotation between daily staff and neighborhoods staff (zoned editions) every six months. Performance consisted of daily assignments, picture pages regularly, special projects and random picture desk duty. Routinely wrote text to accompany packages, pages and projects.

Jackson (Mich) Citizen Patriot: staff photographer

Nov. '81 to Sept. '84 -- Performance consisted of daily assignments, picture pages regularly, special projects and weekend picture desk duty. Routinely wrote text to accompany picture packages, pages and projects. Routinely did page design for daily and Sunday feature pages. Worked one day per week as the assignment editor for graphics and photography for the "Living Today" feature section.

Glenwood Post (Colo): staff photographer/photo dept. mngr

Jan. '81 to Nov. '81 -- Performance consisted of fulfilling the obligations of a one-person photo department. Daily assignments were 80 percent self-generated. Responsible for photography, writing and design of weekly photo page and routinely contributed lengthy feature writing. Exclusively responsible for picture usage and play. Worked with news editor each day on layout of page one and local pages. Also responsible for upkeep of photo lab and photo-related equipment.

Columbia Missourian: photo intern

May '80 to Sept '80 --
One of four University of Missouri students chosen to shoot for Missourian summer staff and double as teaching assistants for basic photography students in the Missouri photojournalism sequence. Performance consisted of daily assignments for newspaper publication.

Hunter (NY) Scene: reporting intern
