John Wayne Airport Arts Commission proudly exhibited TAMMY LECHNER'S baseball photodocumentary "IN THE CAL:Pastime Goes Primetime In California's Minor League." This outstanding exhibit showcased from November 17 th 2004 - April 17 th 2005, located throughout the airport's secured passenger terminals. A total of 30 wall cases (each measuring 12 feet X 6 feet) and four free standing floor cases displayed Lechner's award-winning photography (130 custom prints framed 16 X 20), as well memorabilia from California League teams (past and present), historical information and graphic locator maps. The exhibit is based on Lechner's highly acclaimed, award-winning photodocumentary, (published as the book "IN THE CAL: Pastime Goes Primetime In California's Minor League" 1994) which candidly explores the joyful fun and intimate atmosphere of minor league baseball at its most grassroots level. With her camera, Lechner leads us on a magical journey through Single-A baseball in California, capturing memorable images and moments that define the very soul of the game.
